The retail king, Kishore Biyani has put a foot forward joining hands with Chennai based Everonn Education, aiming to provide training in organized retail. This initiative taken by Future Human Development (FHDL) and Everonn Skill Development mainly focuses towards school-leaving youngsters and graduates.
With the increasing requirement in the retail sector for skilled personnel, this venture aims at providing training opportunities at varied retail formats under the Future Group banner. Comprising of both short and long-term programmes, the main focus would be year-long courses on Visual Merchandising and Supply-chain Management, and short courses focusing on Warehousing, Housekeeping, Home Furnishing and Beauty & Wellness.
Aiming at creating employment right from the lower level, Future group has a track record of recruiting at least 2000 people every month in retail. Thus lending the programme their expertise and providing the guideline, Future Group aims at being present at every level of training in modern retail. Everonn on the other hand would do its bit by putting together the content; taking into consideration the Indian psyche and culture, and through its VST connectivity, provide reach across all countries.
With a view to increasing the contribution through skill development from the current 2% of the company’s total revenue to a 10% in the next three years, the collaboration would be starting with 3000 students and later increasing the numbers to about 25000 next year.
Coming up with such innovative approaches in retail, Future Group earlier this year has also partnered with IGNOU providing MBA and BBA programmes in four cities - Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
