Congregate at The Collection.
20th November 2008, Cannes Adding another feather to Dubai Festival City's already well decorated cap, is The Collection. Located in the heart of Festival City, the 650,000 sq ft luxury expansion to the award winning, 2.9 million sq ft retail resort, Festival Centre, will feature globally renowned flagship anchor brands and a plethora of over 170 premium fashion labels, designer homewares and world class dining experiences. The Collection is designed to link directly to the 400 room Four Seasons Hotel, the world's most exclusive, luxury hotel brand.
Dubai Festival City is a 1300 acre mixed use urban community, developed and operated by Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate, part of the Al-Futtaim Group. Festival Centre attracts 20 million guests annually and enjoys prime focus of the community. The other flagship mixed use urban community under the Festival City brand is the Cairo Festival City, which is spread across 3 million sq metres.
The Collection has a tiered architectural design to provide multiple opportunities for retailers to attract and engage with guests. Spanning across 3 floors, the ground and first floors will house luxury retailing and department stores and the second floor is dedicated to designer homewares, a five star day spa and a luxury food hall. Fine dining roof top restaurants (Michelin starred, of course), will provide spectacular views over Dubai Creek and Dubai's famous skyline.
"The retail experience will be second to none. We have received an extremely positive response to our participation at MAPIC from retailers and we already have meetings organised with many of the great fashion labels. Dubai is a very exciting place to be and The Collection at Festival Centre offers a great opportunity for progressive luxury retailers looking to expand their brand," said Phil Evans, Director of Retail Leasing, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate.
Despite the doom and gloom being painted over the state of world economy, Dubai's total market potential for luxury retail and leisure is predicted to display impressive growth from approximately €1.5 billion in 2010 to €4.4 billion by 2015. 69 percent of Dubai's luxury retail and leisure spending comes from visitors and this number should rise to 77 percent by 2015. Major attractions like the Dubai Shopping Festival and quality retail environments are strategically important to Dubai in order for it to keep its crown as one of the world's top two shopping destinations.
