30th August 2010, New Delhi
Indian Retail School (IRS), India's organized a distinctive workshop on Visual Merchandising. Through this workshop IRS wanted to enhance knowledge among the students and retail professionals about the evolving but unfamiliar Visual Merchandising and Store Design domain.
Surbhi Jain, programme leader explains while conducting the workshop, "It is important for the students to understand the core value of visual merchandising and store design. This is an area where the Indian retail industry, particularly, the small and medium retailers lack adequate knowledge and expertise. This inadequacy is best reflected in poor presentation or display and communication in various retail formats".
Workshop explained the changes occurred in retail industry in the context of VM over the decades. "This workshop is a platform for the participants to identify the potential in them and start thinking about innovative fashion," adds Tarun Panwar, Chief Executive Officer, IRS.
