ELC forays into Blore; plans to venture into Kolkata

Britain-based Early Learning Centre, whose name is popular for retailing children toy at over 400 international stores in more than 35 countries across the globe, has recently marked its entry in Bangalore by opening a store at Mantri Mall in Malleshwaram. Presently, the brand operates 5 stores in Delhi. ELC had forayed into India by signing a joint-venture with DLF Brands Ltd. in April this year.

Announcing ELC?s entry in Bangalore, Timmy Sarna, CEO, DLF Brands Ltd. opined, ?We are extremely delighted to launch our first store in Bangalore. The toy industry in India is poised of Rs. 2000 crore market; however most of it is governed by the unorganized players. The Indian toy market holds a huge potential and scope with a growth rate of 20 percent annually. We have five stores in Delhi and NCR regions and will launch in Kolkata shortly.?

ELC store in Bangalore will be divided into various sections such as Art and Creativity, Baby and Toddler, Making Music, Dressing Up, Sport and Outdoor, Let?s Pretend, Action and Adventure, and Puzzles and Games. The toys in all the sections are designed in an aim to help the children explore the boundaries of their imaginations and creativity, to make learning fun and help children be all they can be.
